When planning your ceremony, one of the most common questions couples have is: What’s the correct wedding processional order? While traditions vary, there’s a standard sequence that many couples use to keep things smooth and meaningful.

Traditional Wedding Processional Order
Officiant: Sometimes already in place before guests are seated.
Grandparents of the couple: Seated first.
Parents of the groom: Walk to their seats.
Mother of the bride: Walks just before the wedding party.
Groom: Often enters with the officiant from the side.
Bridesmaids & Groomsmen: Enter in pairs or individually.
Maid/Matron of Honor: Last of the bridal party.
Ring Bearer & Flower Girl: Cute moment before the big entrance.
Bride & Escort: Traditionally with her father, but this can be personalized.
Modern Variations
Many couples adapt this order to reflect their values and families. Some walk down together, skip the “giving away,” or include step-parents and close friends.
