Maine Wedding Photographer - Sugarloaf Mountain

Sugarloaf Mountain, Maine
Wedding Photography Guide

For couples who want to trade the coast for the canopy, Sugarloaf Mountain offers an unparalleled mountain wedding experience. As a Maine wedding photographer with a love for the outdoors, I find that the Western Maine mountains provide a sense of adventure you can't find anywhere else. With venues like the Outdoor Center and the King Pine Room, Sugarloaf caters to everything from rugged, "boots-on" ceremonies to elegant mountain-view receptions.

My Thoughts

There is a specific kind of magic at Sugarloaf. The air is crisper, and the light filtering through the pines is soft and ethereal. I love how the venue embraces the "North Woods" aesthetic while still providing all the comforts of a world-class resort. It’s the perfect place for a couple who wants their wedding to feel like a getaway for their guests.

Favorite Photo Spot

The chairlift ride is an absolute must for photos! Capturing a couple suspended over the mountain with the Bigelow Range in the distance is always a highlight. I also love the wooded paths around the Outdoor Center—the natural greenery creates a beautiful, intimate frame for candid moments between the couple.

Nearby Food

After a day on the mountain, head over to The Bag & Kettle at the base. It’s a legendary Sugarloaf institution—get the "Bag Burger" and a local brew; it’s the ultimate mountain comfort food.
