Maine Wedding Photographer 1812 Farm

1812 Farm, Maine
Wedding Photography Guide

The 1812 Barn is a Midcoast treasure located just minutes from the iconic Pemaquid Point. As a Maine wedding photographer, I find this venue to be the perfect marriage of historical significance and rustic charm. The restored barn maintains its 19th-century soul while providing modern amenities, making it an ideal choice for couples who want a wedding that feels grounded in Maine’s rich heritage. The property offers rolling meadows and a weathered aesthetic that is pure magic on camera.

My Thoughts

There is a sense of peace at the 1812 Barn that is hard to find elsewhere. I love the way the weathered wood of the barn catches the late afternoon light. It’s a venue that encourages guests to wander the grounds with a drink in hand, creating a relaxed, documentary-style environment that is perfect for my style of photography. The hospitality here is quintessentially "Maine"—warm, genuine, and professional.

Favorite Photo Spot

While the barn interior is stunning, my favorite spot is actually the open fields surrounding the property at sunset. There is a specific angle where you can capture the couple with the historic barn in the background while the sun dips behind the treeline. I also love using the large barn doors as a natural frame for intimate portraits.

Nearby Food

If you are in Bristol, you absolutely have to visit The Contented Sole. It’s located right on the water in Pemaquid Harbor. Their seafood is incredibly fresh, and the view of the working harbor is the perfect Midcoast experience.
